Built in 1852 by John and Rebekah Dorrington Gardner, this was a stage coach stop on the Big Trees Carson Valley Road, which was a toll road from 1862 to 1910.  The hotel served as a depot for stockmen and as a summer resort.  Legend has it that the spirit of Rebekah Dorrington Gardner still resides here.  We believe she does.  Don’t let the spirits fool you!
